Feb 2022, we lost our friend, brother, uncle, and colleague. He was smart, kind, generous, and a lifelong learner. A lettered scholar in history and finance, self-taught engineer and model rocket enthusiast.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts Dec 2, 1958, son of Leo and Rita Barron, brother to sister Heidi Barron.

Lover of animals, history, and aviation.

He was a natural athlete and explorer. An avid cyclist, sailor, pilot, and race car driver.

After earning a degree in History and MBA in Finance from University of Massachusetts and Boston College respectively, Leland joined Fidelity Management and Research, eventually managing over $38 billion in assets as VP of the Money Market Group. He left Fidelity in 1998 to trade independently as Oasis Asset Management.

He was a Boston Red Sox fan and never missed a Dallas Stars game.

As a member of the Skip Barber Racing School, he raced at Laguna Seca, Sebring, Lime Rock, and Indianapolis.

He was a supporter of animal causes, including Wild Animal Sanctuary Texas and SPIN Saving Pyrs in Need.
